Potato Chip Scarf

Admittedly, there are a gazillion versions of the Potato Chip Scarf out there.  Here is the pattern that I use, which was passed on to me by a Ravelry friend.  I don't know where it originated, and I hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws. Any needle size (I use 7US) and any yarn will do (I used Crystal Palace Mini Mochi).  You just want to make sure that whatever needle size you choose, it is at least one size larger than what the skein info. suggests so that you get that kind of lacy look.  I used about 390 yards for the one in the picture.

CO 24 (or any multiple of the same stitch number--this one is three sets of 8 stitches).

Knit 2 rows.

Beginning on  the right side of the scarf:

Knit across 8 stitches, turn, knit back across those 8 stitches.
Knit across 7 stitches, turn, knit back across those 7 stitches.
Knit across 6 stitches, turn, knit back across those 6 stitches.
Knit across 5 stitches, turn, knit back across those 5 stitches.
Knit across 4 stitches, turn, knit back across those 4 stitches.
Knit across entire row to the other side of the scarf.

Repeat those 6 rows for the left side of the scarf. Then, just keep repeating these rows, alternating from one side of the scarf to the other, until it is long enough for you.  Two skeins of Crystal Palace Mini Mochi comes out to about 5 feet on a size 7 US needle.
